Naturally, just one birthday party was not enough for our precious baby Kate. We had a family dinner on her actual birthday. My mom cooked meatloaf which is one of Katelyn's favorite meals. She won't eat cake but she will devour a plate of meatloaf. She will even eat it steaming hot when it would burn most babies' fingers.
I had purchased a birthday cake from Target the day before. (People who know me well know how I feel about cakes from Target). I was sure that she would eat this cake. It was from Target!!!
She really didn't want anything to do with it. Oh well, more for me.
What she really wanted to do was eat the candle.
This is what happened when I took the candle away.
I can't believe a whole year has passed since our beautiful Kate was born. Just over a year ago, I was not so patiently waiting with a tiny squirming baby kicking me from the inside out. I spent countless hours wondering what she would look like, what she might sound like, and what her personality would be. I had no idea how much I would love her. She has made Dave and I so happy. We love her so much and can't wait for many more birthdays to come.
