poppy's paying!

My grandparents returned from their annual summer Utah trip last night.  They were so excited to see us (well really Katelyn) that they took us out to lunch.

We decided on Pepperoni's so my mom and I walked with Katelyn.  She was so excited to see KiKi and Poppy.

When Katelyn was first born and she met my grandma for the first time, we weren't really sure what to call her.  Between my mom and my grandma, it was confusing who we were talking about when anyone said "Grandma."  My grandma came up with the idea of GG which we hated so my mom and I started calling her KiKi.  She hated it at first but it finally grew on her.  Whenever we mention KiKi, little Kate smiles.

Today at lunch, we came up with a nickname for my grandpa.  We thought about calling him KooKoo but decided to be a little bit nicer as he was treating us to lunch.  It reminded my of the time we all went on a family cruise.  There was another large family on board and every day they wore the same family t shirts in different colors.  The shirts had a picture of their grandfather and the phrase, "Poppy's Paying!"  Where ever we went on the boat, that same family would be cheering, "Poppy's Paying!!!"

So, it was decided that Grandpa would be "Poppy."

Grandma brought Katelyn some pretty hair bows from Swiss Days and amazing metal straws for my mom and I.  They make your drink even colder when you use them.  They are basically the best thing to happen to drinks since Sonic ice.
