Well, it's official! We are now Mr. and Mrs. Robertson. :)
The morning of our wedding got off to an interesting start. I woke up to get ready and the first thing I did was put in my contacts. Something didn't feel right in one eye so I took out my contact to rinse it again. When I removed the lens, it ripped in half. I didn't have a spare set of contacts and was not about to wear my glasses to my wedding. I panicked and ran out into the hallway sobbing.
My first thought was to call Dave. Frantically, I called him and left a tearful voice message. It went a little something like this ...
"Dave. This is Megan. Call me back. Bye."
Dave of course feared the worst and assumed that I was calling, not just him, but the wedding. Off. Completely.
When Dave found out that I still wanted to get married that day, after breathing a sigh of relief, he laughed. After getting off the phone, he called every optometrist in the phone book until he found one that would give me a spare trial pair of contact lenses.
My dad was also a hero that day. When he heard me crying in the hall, he quickly took the contacts out of his own eyes and gave them to me. The crisis was averted.
When we got to the temple, seeing Dave made everything real and I was so excited. Everything felt so right. I couldn't wait to be sealed to him.
The sealing was a beautiful ceremony and the Spirit was so strong. Some wonderful words were spoken and it was a testimony strengthening experience in addition to an amazing wedding.
Taking pictures outside of the temple was freezing! I had a giant quilt to wrap around myself between shots to try and stay warm. We took pictures for as long as we could but after a while our noses turned red from the cold.
We had a wonderful luncheon for out families after the sealing. It was so nice to see old family members and meet some new ones as well. :)
The reception was absolutely beautiful. I had almost nothing to do with the planning. I knew that my mom would plan a perfect reception and I was just so happy to be with Dave that I didn't care about the party. When I walked into my aunt and uncle's house, I was amazed at the gorgeous decorations and the amazing food they had prepared. My favorite part was the candy bar with pretty silver and green candies for guests to take in a gift bag.
